My dad, Rod, has been in a long-term health care facility down in Sun City since mid December. It was becoming increasing difficult for my stepmom to care for him in recent months, and her overall health (back mostly) has taken a nosedive. It was expected that he would just stay there for good and that she would go visit him daily. Although he is on Hospice, his health is not declining rapidly at this point, so he could possibly be in his "hospital" bed for quite a long time. The thought of him being in that place long term, staring at a wall has been a difficult pill to swallow, especially for him.
BUT, PRAISE GOD! - they have decided to bring him back home and hire part time help. We are SO relieved. His quality of life will be drastically improved immediately! Please pray that they would be able to hire help for at least 3/4 time, so there is no strain on Helen, my stepmom, and that this change of living situation would be sustainable from them both. We are so grateful to God for this turn of events!

Yesterday (Sunday), our son and DIL in Knoxville had a scare with their one month old baby girl. Little Margaret was having trouble breathing, and then she stopped completely. They called an ambulance and had some tests run right there in their driveway. An EKG revealed a little anomaly in her heart rhythm, which may insignificant, or could be serious. Now they are trying to find the right pediatrician to connect them to a good cardiologist- hoping to get her seen quickly for obvious reasons. They have been in Knoxville for less than two years and don't have established doctors or medical insurance yet. Please pray for our granddaughter's health, peace for the family, that God would provide for them every step of the way.

Sharon's sister, Sylvia, is recovering from surgery that removed a cancerous right lower lung lobe. She is healing well and we are rejoicing that there was no cancerous invasion into surrounding tissue, and all lymph nodes checked were clear. Please pray that no more chemo or immunotherapy will be required.
