My dad, Rod, has been in a long-term health care facility down in Sun City since mid December. It was becoming increasing difficult for my stepmom to care for him in recent months, and her overall health (back mostly) has taken a nosedive. It was expected that he would just stay there for good and that she would go visit him daily. Although he is on Hospice, his health is not declining rapidly at this point, so he could possibly be in his "hospital" bed for quite a long time. The thought of him being in that place long term, staring at a wall has been a difficult pill to swallow, especially for him.
BUT, PRAISE GOD! - they have decided to bring him back home and hire part time help. We are SO relieved. His quality of life will be drastically improved immediately! Please pray that they would be able to hire help for at least 3/4 time, so there is no strain on Helen, my stepmom, and that this change of living situation would be sustainable from them both. We are so grateful to God for this turn of events!
